Paintings in progress (person in progress)
Inside of me is a little girl who likes to draw and paint. She is amazed by light and color and fantasizes over fairy land every single day. She likes coloring with markers, drawing animal characters, and thinks about what it would be like to paint flowers and clouds over the walls of her house.
But also inside of me, is a raging woman who demands, judges, and sneers. She gets so frustrated that she places that little girl in a box, storing her on the top shelf inside the closet. She often even tries to take that little girl and throw her out of the house when she hears her crying behind the closed door, but Grace brings her back time and time again. In the past, they would reconcile for a while, but eventually the raging woman would survey the chasm between that messy little girl and her own ego fueled dreams and the house would be shaken by the tempest of her pride once again.
How do you re-wild a woman?
Heaven knows it is good to experience refinement, to have discipline, but also, it’s good just to be able to fall apart and have the chance to play again.
This is the little dance that I’m learning; thankfully my dance partner is holding me. His right hand will hold me fast.

Years ago, my wife started writing a book "A While Mom" but never finished. She felt that need to "re-wild" herself.
You are such an inspiration! The joy I feel looking at your art... <3
